Kathy Gordon has a strong passion for interior design and a dedication to helping clients realize their dream spaces. Seeing a client's reaction on installation day is the highlight of her work.
With over 30 years of experience, Kathy began her career in retail sales and management for over a decade before founding her own interior design business, Kathy Gordon Interiors in 2008, working with clients worldwide. Identifying a gap in the market at that time, she began designing furniture, collaborating with top furniture manufacturers to bring her designs to life.
In 2019, Kathy and her husband moved to Hickory, where she became Vice President of four stores in the Hickory Furniture Mart rebranding them as Southern Heritage Home (SHH). In 2021, Kathy and Sam purchased SHH and its family of stores: Southern Style Fine Furniture, Hooker Furniture Outlet, and Heritage Furniture Gallery, and Outlet.
Kathy is now focused on bringing her interior design expertise to every customer at SHH, offering clients comprehensive complimentary design services through Kathy Gordon Interiors at Southern Heritage Home.

In this session, Kathy will talk about how you can find the balance of what you want help with in your home and how an interior designer can assist you, along with things you can do yourself.
Design Trends: Refresh Your Space Without the Remodel
We use our homes much differently than our parents did. Formal dining rooms have been replaced with home offices and play rooms, and outdoor living spaces have become more important. Kathy's session will cover color trends, performance fabrics, selecting furniture to fit the space, and how to pull an entire room together. Kathy will also discuss where and how to get the best advice.
